Things to do in Amish Country during the Christmas season
The holiday season is a special time in Amish Country – the fall foliage crowds have left, traffic is quieter, and the pace of farm life has slowed after the harvest. Snow-covered hillsides and twinkling lights beckon visitors to make this the best Christmas yet! Here is my list of things to do in Amish Country during November and December.
Berlin Main Street Merchant Open House
Haul out the holly as the shop owners of Berlin welcome you to their Christmas Open Houses! Find the special decorations you’ve been looking for as you meander downtown Berlin Friday and Saturday, November 12-13, 2021.
Some of my favorite stores & their hours:
- Sheiyah Market – Open Nov. 11 from 9-6, Nov. 12 from 9-7, and Nov. 13 from 9-6
- Studio4Designs – Open Nov. 12 from 10-6 and Nov. 13 from 10-5
- Kaufman’s Kountry Accents – Nov. 12 Open House
- Streb’s General Store – Nov. 12 Open House
- bFearless (located between Berlin and Walnut Creek) will also be having their Christmas Open House from Nov. 11-13.
Christmas in the Country
Christmas in the Country is a heart-warming and laugh-inducing show at the Amish Country Theatre that runs from Nov 9- Dec 18. Bring the entire family to see Ventriloquist Ken Groves and vocalist Donnie Abraham. Tickets can be purchased in advance HERE. The Amish Country Theatre will also play host to shows like, “Christmas with the Celts” and “A Big Band Christmas.”
Welcome Home for the Holidays – Victorian House Millersburg
After a year lost to the pandemic, The Victorian House in Millersburg will once again welcome visitors to experience the Queen Anne Mansion in all her holiday glory. November 20th from 4pm – 8pm is the kick-off Open House, but self-guided tours of the mansion will be available until December 31st. The Victorian House stays open until 8 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, and I highly recommend an evening visit to fully enjoy the Christmas lights and decor. Check their website for details.
